Unfortunately, we don’t always provide the essential trainingrequired to develop that potential.

If this is you, you’ll also know having well-developed managers and supervisors is a key factor, and sometimes the missing link, to really getting the best out of your teams and moving your organisation closer to achieving its goals.

Our Learning to Lead program is specifically designed for emerging leaders in any sector. In just one day, participants will learn what good management looks like, with ready to use strategies and techniques.

Supervisors represent an important force in the economy. You have the power to turn on or turn off the productivity of the people who report to you. 

You are the crucial interface between the employee on the shop floor or the service desk and the managers of the organisation.


Although you usually have more technical experience than the employees you supervise, you may not have had a lot of leadership experience. 

This one-day course will give you the skills in communication, coaching, and conflict that you need to be successful.

Topics covered include:

  • Skills inventory and job analysis

  • Position profiles and job descriptions

  • Finding candidates and advertising guidelines

  • Preparing for and conducting the interview

  • Employee orientation and onboarding

  • Planning training and external providers

  • Making performance reviews work for both of you

  • Attendance management 

  • Privacy issues and compensation and benefits

  • Managing disciplinary issues and termination

  • Exit interviews

This training is best suited for:

  • Anyone who doubles as or has to fill in as the HR person

  • Department managers who want an awesome, high performing team

  • COOs and other higher-level managers who need to know as much about HR as HR but don't have time to complete a diploma
